One problem our customers seem to run into continuously is locking themselves out of their homes. There are a few scenarios we see all the time that are easily preventable with keyless entry systems. When someone steps out of their home to do yardwork, grab the mail, exercise, etc. they don’t usually remember to bring their keys. Locks like schlage and others have what is known as an “emergency egress” function, which means if the door is locked, the interior knob still turns to allow you out. This often leads people to believe their door is unlocked. Having a lock on an exterior door with pushbuttons or a finger print reader will allow you to re enter your home without your keys. One other problem we see is that power outages leave you with only exterior doors to enter, as the garage door no longer functions. Making sure your locks are keyed properly, and well maintained can prevent this, and other problems.
