Most modern vehicles utilize a security feature called a transponder. It is a small frequency chip in your key, that your car reads before it start. If it reads an incorrect chip, or doesn’t read a chip at all, it will not start. It is a great way to prevent theft, but once damaged it can cause you quite a headache.
