Some people think that an estimate is an exact price. An estimate, by definition, is not exact. When you receive an estimate on a job, it is the technician’s best idea of pricing based on the information at hand. If it is a possibly complex job, he may offer more than one price in his estimate. It is a base line price to work from. As problems arise it may go up a bit, and if the job goes smoothly, it may go down. An estimate simply gets you in the range, it doesn’t mean that is the final price.
