If you need more than two keys for a newer vehicle it can cost you hundreds per key. The newer high tech features used in the antitheft systems work wonderfully for keeping thieves away, but can be quite costly if you lose your keys or need extras made. In certain situations, bypassing the “transponder” system can be quite a good idea. When the system is bypassed, the vehicles computer is led to believe the key is always present, Allowing you to use standard, old fashioned brass keys at a significantly lower rate per key. If your not sure if your vehicle should have its system bypassed just ask your local locksmith. It has its pro’s and con’s, it just depends on how the vehicle is used, and how many people need to use it.
